Keep three different records
A credential confirms a program result. Training documents preparation. Project authorization determines the approved work assignment. They should not be collapsed into a single course-completed checkbox.
- Verify credential status through the issuer
- Record training and observed practice evidence
- Confirm project/jurisdiction authorization separately
- Limit assignment to the verified scope
Assign evidence and an accountable owner
For each proposed assignment, identify the required credential or approval, current record, expiry, skill gap, and manager responsible for follow-up. Avoid public sharing of employee personal data.
- Role and intended work scope
- Issuer record and verification date
- Observed practice or skill gap
- Owner, due date, and secure evidence location
Plan renewal without assuming course credit
Use the actual issuer policy for each credential. For example, ACI Grade I states both examinations for recertification. A course certificate does not automatically provide approved CE credit or renew a credential.
- Current renewal method and source
- Deadline and session availability
- Evidence required by the issuer
- Budget and work-coverage approval
Worked fictional example
Training completed is not assignment authorized
An employee finishes preparation, but the official credential record and required project approval have not been verified.
Reveal the model response
Record preparation as completed; credential verification and project authorization remain pending. Assign a manager and due date for each evidence gap before treating the employee as cleared for that scope.
This is an offline planning worksheet, not a working team-management application, agency approval, or competency certification.
